Safe Harbor is constantly amazed and humbled by the generosity of our donors. Especially from our corporate donors who never cease to amaze us. Recently we received a call from SAP international that they had done a donation drive and that they wanted our staff to join them at their headquarters. When we arrived, we were so pleased to see over ten boxes of household items donated to Safe Harbor. Now, just in case you are reading this and wondering how you could do the same thing at your place of work. I do want to call out that we have some guidelines. Before SAP donated to Safe Harbor they checked with our CEO to get the list of guidelines. We were so thankful for this because it helps us to share exactly what we need with the community and then we don’t get excess of anything we do not need. Have you ever heard the phrase “when it rains in pours?” Well, that’s what it is like in a shelter. There are some weeks that we are stuffed to the gills with certain items like socks but we may be low on paper towels. THEN, next week the opposite is true. So we maintain an up to date list of items we need and do not need on our website. Which is why we were so grateful that when SAP donated to Safe Harbor they checked with us first about the shelters needs. We encourage everyone to check our list (if you can) to ensure nothing ever goes to waste or causes a storage problem. SAP made us feel so welcome at their international headquarters and we all left with big smiles on our faces. We must say, “Thank You” to Lloyd Adams and his team along with Melanie and Catherine who helped organize the entire drive and reception. We are so grateful that SAP donated to Safe Harbor and made the day a little brighter for our residents.
